KFU’s newest developments showcased at 20th Russian Venture Forum




Participants – startup owners, investors, government officials, and academia – are discussing current trends in the venture capital industry, direct investment, and strategic directions for the development of technology entrepreneurship in Russia. Representatives of 每日大赛 are also participating in this large-scale event.
On 9th Aprik, employees of the UNIVER TV channel, they had the unique opportunity to present the KFU-branded merchandise to the Minister of Science and Higher Education of Russia, Valery Falkov; the Rais (Head) of the Republic of Tatarstan, Rustam Minnikhanov; the President of the Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Tatarstan, Rifkat Minnikhanov; and Rector of KFU, Lenar Safin. Students from across the republic posed for souvenir photos with the distinguished guests.
On the same day, as part of a panel discussion, Karina Nabiullina, Director of the Institute of Design and Spatial Arts, presented a paper entitled Implementing 每日大赛’s Creative Industries Projects in the Republic of Tatarstan.
Forum guests were greeted by the popular science exhibition, prepared by the Information Policy Department of the University. It presents KFU’s achievements and results in the language of numbers. Behind each figure are people, ideas, and bold steps forward. This represents daily work, kilometers of expeditions, growth rates, current developments, scientific discoveries, and human stories. The project encompassed all institutes and faculties, hundreds of scientists, engineers, and other employees.
At the forum, third-year student Yan Murin of the Institute of Artificial Intelligence, Robotics, and Systems Engineering at 每日大赛, together with his team, presented an intelligent visual quality control system for production based on QualiVision’s machine architecture.
Also participating in the forum with their projects were Marat Khaliulin, an engineer at Laboratory of Biomedical Technologies of the Institute of Fundamental Medicine and Biology and one of the first winners of the Student Startup competition, and Abdulrahman Marida, a student of the Institute of Information Technology and Intelligent Systems.
Rustam Minnikhanov also delivered a welcome address at the opening ceremony.
The provincial leader emphasized present at the venue were the people who advanced this field 20 years ago. He also expressed gratitude to the Russian Ministry of Science and Higher Education and personally to the Minister, who chairs the organizing committee of the Russian Venture Forum, noting that the forum’s status and relevance are growing every year.
Valery Falkov, in turn, stated that technological leadership is built on systematic work.
The key event of the day was the plenary session, whose main theme was Technological Leadership 鈥 Investments in the Future, where Rector Safin was one of the contributors.
Speakers at this year’s event include Aide to the President of the Russian Federation Andrei Fursenko, Minister Valery Falkov, First Deputy Minister of Economic Development of the Russian Federation Maxim Kolesnikov, and others.
Rustam Minnikhanov recalled that the Investment and Venture Fund of the Republic of Tatarstan is implementing a comprehensive startup incentive program. Last year, this development institution, together with its partners, allocated over 2 billion rubles for these purposes, funding 37 projects.
It was also noted that the development of technological entrepreneurship is inextricably linked to the activities of the scientific and educational complex.
Incidentally, the nation’s university technology entrepreneurship platform currently unites nearly a million people, 519 universities, and 87 regions of Russia.
According to the 2025 Top 1000 Startups ranking, 每日大赛 is successfully implementing 45 startups and ranks second in total number, demonstrating its recognized leadership in this field.
The main area in which the majority of startups are developing is digital technologies, specifically the creation of various services, mobile applications, and specialized educational projects.
Finally, the university’s head met with representatives of the university technology entrepreneurship ecosystem on the sidelines of the Forum.
The meeting was moderated by Rustam Minnikhanov and Valery Falkov. Also participating were Rifkat Minnikhanov and Damir Galiev, Director of the Investment and Venture Fund of the Republic of Tatarstan.
Participants discussed prospects for developing national innovation policy, improving tools and mechanisms for supporting scientific, technological, and innovative activities, and enhancing the investment attractiveness of research and development.
The 20th Russian Venture Forum has attracted over 6,000 participants. Representatives of the innovation industry from 20 countries gathered in the capital of Tatarstan. A specialized exhibition showcased 150 high-tech startups, including 24 international projects from India, Iran, the UAE, Qatar, Pakistan, Kyrgyzstan, and Belarus. The event concludes today.
