Rector Lenar Safin meets fresh students




The talk began with showing a digital map of the world with all the countries of origin of our students marked on it.
Lenar Safin noted that he was also once a student of the legendary university, and that all current students and graduates are united by their love for their alma mater.
鈥淢y first day at the university was as exciting as it was for you,鈥 the Rector said. 鈥淚t was 1986, I entered the Faculty of Law. In the classroom, we were given student cards and record books, there was a festive atmosphere all around, and I remember how we were all filled with a sense of pride that we were students of one of the best universities in the country.鈥
He also emphasized that today the university has a huge number of talented students, to whom KFU provides many opportunities for development and self-realization.
The young people participate in various competitions, grant programs, forums and festivals throughout Russia, are winners of contests, conferences, creative and sports competitions, are actively involved in science and social activities.
Of course, they are always ready to share their experience with freshmen. Therefore, a big part of the discussion was devoted to the development trajectories of students and stories about their achievements in various areas.
鈥淚 want our university to remain one of the best in Russia,鈥 said Lenar Safin. 鈥淥f course, we need a powerful infrastructure with advanced technologies, modern equipped laboratories and production sites. After all, we must develop not only fundamental science, but also give the country specific results of our research aimed at strengthening the economy and technological independence. The introduction of scientific developments in the industrial sector and the training of professional personnel for enterprises is one of our priority areas.鈥
In general, he concluded that the university is a large and friendly family where everyone is supported and cared for.
Special attention is paid to supporting student families. Currently, the university has forty. According to the Rector’s order, they are given a cash certificates when a child is born. In addition, after a major renovation of the dormitories, in addition to modern spaces, separate family blocks appeared on campuses for more comfortable living with children.
Several such families attended the meeting today, and Lenar Safin presented them with keys to their rooms and memorable gifts.
In conclusion, the student union and the university administration signed a cooperation agreement.
