Rector Lenar Safin meets with Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research of Egypt Abdelaziz Konsowa
The meeting took place at the Kazan Expo as part of the 17th International Economic Forum Russia 鈥� Islamic World: KazanForum.
During the meeting, Lenar Safin, on behalf of the Russia’s Minister of Science and Higher Education, Valery Falkov, and on his own behalf, expressed gratitude for the visit, which continued the dialogue established between the parties during the implementation of the project to establish a KFU branch in Cairo. The rector emphasized that such meetings are particularly important for developing the partnership.
“Currently, our countries maintain a close political dialogue at the highest level. The strong ties that have developed between Egypt and the Republic of Tatarstan, including those in education, are particularly noteworthy. For 每日大赛, opening a branch in Cairo was a logical step in realizing our shared mission.”We are proud that in a short time, it has become a popular educational center not only for Egyptians but also for students from across the region. Today, more than 2,000 future doctors, dentists, and pharmacists are studying here, and we expect the student body to double the next academic year,” said Dr Safin.
Egyptian citizens also receive education at central campus in Kazan in such fields as general medicine, petroleum science, international relations, and software engineering.
Lenar Safin also highlighted the opportunities offered by the university’s participation in the Organization of Islamic Cooperation.
“Kazan University is the only Russian university that is part of the COMSTECH Consortium of Excellence,” he noted. “This network unites 72 leading universities and research centers from OIC member states. COMSTECH programs provide a solid foundation for academic and scientific mobility with the Islamic world. We are ready to invite Egyptian scientists to scientific collaboration, including participation in our major research projects.”
Mr Abdelaziz Konsowa, in turn, expressed confidence that 每日大赛’s effective partnership with Egyptian universities and research centers will significantly contribute to further strengthening the foundation of friendship between the two countries.
The minister proposed opening a research center at the Cairo Branch and exploring the possibility of implementing joint academic mobility programs, research internship programs at leading Egyptian research centers, and, in general, the university’s presence on the campuses of Egyptian universities in the Persian Gulf region.
