Acting Rector Dmitry Taursky met with representatives of Ontustik Corporation
The Ontustik team, headed by Chairman Serikzhan Seitzhanov, visited KFU on 14 June.
The event on Ontustik鈥檚 side was joined by Deputy Chairman Shaikhan Mukhametrakhimov, Director of the Innovation Technology College of Shymkent Kerimzhan Seitzhanov, and Rector of South Kazakhstan Medical Academy Myrzabek Rysbekov. Kazan University dispatched Vice-Rector for Earth Sciences Danis Nurgaliev, Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs Yekaterina Turilova, Vice-Rector for Biomedicine Andrey Kiyasov, Counsellor to the Rector for Cooperation with Central Asia Rashit Azimov, and others.


Dmitry Tayursky spoke about Russian-Kazakhstani cooperation in academia and familiarized the guests with KFU鈥檚 Priority 2030 strategy. Some of KFU鈥檚 foci, such as medicine, petroleum industry, engineering, and IT, are also the primary areas of collaboration between the two neighboring countries.
Chairman of Ontustik mentioned that Tatarstan is always one of the top Russian provinces in cooperation with Kazakhstan, as stated by President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev. Serikzhan Seitzhanov said, 鈥淩aising high-quality professionals based on Russian and global standards and promoting the spirit of friendship and cooperation in young people are our most important objectives.鈥


The Chairman reiterated Ontustik鈥檚 interest in opening KFU鈥檚 branch in Shymkent. The branch will concentrate on geology, petroleum engineering, civil engineering, chemistry, machine building, and medicine. As agreed, the corporation is ready to invest in the project, including construction, equipment, and launch of studies.
Dr. Tayursky and Ontustik delegation also met with Rafinat Yarullin, General Director of TNKI-H (Tatarstan Petroleum Chemistry Investment Holding). The sides discussed cooperation in the oil and gas industry.


Ontustik Corporation is one of the largest private conglomerates in Kazakhstan, with stakes in industrial production, natural resources, energy, and education. In particular, it runs South Kazakhstan Medical Academy and Innovation Technology College of Shymkent.
