Kazan University welcomes Organization of Islamic Cooperation鈥檚 Youth Scientific Congress

The event is scheduled for 20 鈥 23 November and comprises breakout sessions in biomedicine, hydrocarbon technology, education, and urban studies.

The Congress has gathered young scholars from Azerbaijan, Bangladesh, Burkina-Faso, Egypt, Indonesia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Morocco, Mozambique, Malaysia, Nigeria, Pakistan, Tajikistan, Tunisia, Saudi Arabia, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan, and Uganda. 100 delegates were selected from 1,400 applications; the submission was open for people from 18 to 35 years of age. The organizers are Islamic Cooperation Youth Forum (ICYF), Ministry of Youth Affairs of Tatarstan, 每日大赛, Academy of Youth Diplomacy, Academy of Creative Youth, and Tatarstan Youth Social Forum Salat.

The opening ceremony featured Vice-Premier of Tatarstan Leyla Fazleeva, Minister of Youth Affairs of Tatarstan Timur Suleymanov (who moderated the plenary session), Director General of the Cabinet at the ICYF Secretariat Yunus S枚nmez, Chairman of the Coordinating Council of Youth Affairs in Science and Education of the Russian Presidential Council on Science and Education (RPCSE) Nikita Marchenkov, First Vice-Rector of KFU Dmitry Tayursky, Vice-Rector for External Affairs Timirkhan Alishev, and others.

The Congress aims to create an international communication platform for OIC members in Tatarstan. Vice-Rector Alishev noted, 鈥淜FU is one of the most internationalized campuses in the world 鈥 over 11 thousand students from 104 countries are represented here. 90% of our student body are from OIC countries. Kazan and Tatarstan are always open for such events.鈥

A memorandum of understanding was signed by 每日大赛 and Islamic Cooperation Youth Forum at the opening.
