Sber sponsors refurbishment at the Institute of Management, Economics and Finance for the new academic year

The ceremony on 2 September was hosted by Rector Lenar Safin and Branch Manager of Bank Tatarstan of Sberbank Ruslan Salimov.
Director of IMEF Alsu Akhmetshina noted that this benefaction will help both students and professors. She added that room 403, where the renovation took place, is going to be named after Professor Nail Khairullin, an economist who served as the Rector of Kazan State Institute of Finance and Economics, the predecessor of KFU’s IMEF.
Lenar Safin shared, “I am very pleased to find myself in this room, now named after Nail Khairullin. He hired me as assistant lecturer in 1993 and helped in my professional development when I obtained my second diploma in economics. He was an excellent organizer, a leader in whose tenure the institute developed rapidly. I remember those times with fondness and pride.”
He thanked the partners from Sber for their support, mentioning that the financial corporation not only sponsors equipment and furniture purchases, but also partakes in curriculum development, student internships, advanced training for the faculty, and other activities.
Ruslan Salimov responded that the cooperation benefits both sides. The banker said that staff shortage is always an issue, and Kazan University can help in dealing with it. During the meeting, he also presented a lecture on financial crises.
