Students wrap up summer employment as train conductors

Over 300 KFU students chose to be employed through the Student Squad Headquarters this summer, including jobs in construction, teaching, hospitality, and transport.

Fifty young people chose the road and were recruited by Russian Railways. They completed a short training course beforehand.

Student Valeriya Ambrosovskaya shares, 鈥淎 train conductor must check passengers鈥 papers, maintain the water boiler, keep up their car鈥檚 infrastructure during a race. Finding mutual understanding with any passenger and resolving conflicts is also part of the job.鈥

The students travelled all over the country, from southern resorts to the harsh north, including Moscow, Saint-Petersburg, Novy Urengoy, Anapa, Adler, and Kislovodsk. The longest trip took ten days.

Valeriya adds, 鈥淎lmost all of my assignments were to Moscow, so I managed to see much of the national capital. We visited many museums and places of interest. There were some joyous moments sure to become memories for a long time.鈥

Although the temporary conductors were not able to all gather in one place, they managed to hold some friendly competitions and ceremonies between them, such as Best Dish, Secret Friend, New Year, and even Squad Wedding.

Commissar (leader and coordinator) of Magellan Squad, which is in charge of transport jobs, Anastasiya Blinova says, 鈥淚t was important for me to provide the guys opportunities to rest. Being a train conductor is not easy, and it鈥檚 essential to feel support from your friends. The most valuable thing for me is seeing earnest effort from them.鈥
