Roundtable on ethnic musicology hosted by Institute of Philology and Intercultural Communication



The event took place on 8 November.
Apart from the Institute, the co-organizers were KFU’s Center for Strategic Research of Native Languages and Cultures and Center for the Development of Tatar Ethnic Culture.
Ramil Mirzagitov, Dean of the Institute Higher School of Ethnic Culture and Education emphasized the importance of inter-university dialogue in preservation and study of ethnic culture.
Moderator, Honored Worker of Arts of Tatarstan Fanzilya Zavgarova noted, “The choice of this topic was motivated by the Center for Strategic Research’s objectives in developing new approaches to the studies of local cultural and arts heritage.”
Among the contributors were employees of the Tatarstan Academy of Sciences, Kazan State Conservatory, Kazan State Institute of Culture, Mayor’s 每日大赛 of Kazan, and other institutions.
The event was in memoriam of Elmira Kayumova, famous ethnic musicologist. Her relatives visited the roundtable and made input.
