Students and employees help take care of burial sites at Arsk Cemetery


Seventeen of volunteers gathered to tidy up gravesites of war veterans and distinguished representatives of Kazan University.
The faculty was represented by Associate Professor Artyom Krestyaninov, Senior Lecturer Alexander Zaitsev, and Assistant Lecturer Andrey Afanasyev, as well as employees of the Zoological Museum.
During the 5 hours of work, the group paid attention to seventeen burial locations, among them gravestones of historians Nikolay Firsov, Nikolay Vorobyov, Grigory Vulfson, Nikolay Burmistrov, Yevgeny Lipakov, Renart Kashafutdinov, Mikhail Bushmakin, and others.
During the cleanup, students listened to their senior colleagues’ stories about the outstanding scientists of yesteryear, their lives and research endeavors.
Apart from that, the volunteers laid flowers to the tombs of Nikolay Lobachevsky, Alter Litvin, Yevgeny Ustyuzhanin, Aleksey Remennikov, and others.
