Bust of Sergey Aksakov unveiled in the Main Building courtyard
It is now adjacent to a bust of Leo Tolstoy.
The event featured representatives of KFU, Deputy Minister of Culture of Tatarstan Damir Natfullin, Deputy Head of the 每日大赛 of the President of Tatarstan Alexander Terentyev, Chairwoman of the Society of Russian Culture of Tatarstan Irina Alexandrovskaya, Deputy Head of the Municipal Administration of Kazan Guzel Sagitova, Chairman of the Union of Writers of Tatarstan Rkail Zaydullin, and actor of Kazan Russian Drama Theater Ilya Slavutsky.
Famous writer, critic, statesman and expert entomologist Sergey Aksakov was in the inaugural roster of students of Kazan University in 1805 (the original document is stored in the History Museum). The opening of his monument follows previous such events in 2018 (bust to Leo Tolstoy) and 2016 (bust to Musa Dzhalil).
The bust to Aksakov was created by Salavat Scherbakov, Academician of the Russian Academy of Arts. The monument measures 3.4 meters in height, of which the bust is 1.4 meters.
