Inter-university campus project discussed at KFU
Deputy Minister of Science and Higher Education of Russia Ayrat Gatiyatov joined the meeting on 27 December.
Also joining were Interim Rector of KFU Dmitry Tayursky, Senior Vice-President of VEB.RF Mikhail Alashkevich, Vice-Premier of Tatarstan Leyla Fazleeva, Aide to the President of Tatarstan Albert Gilmutdinov, and rectors of other universities of Tatarstan.
During 2021, which was the Year of Science and Technology in Russia, the Government of Russia announced its new initiative to create a network of world-class university campuses in the nation. At least 30 campuses for 150 thousand students will be constructed.
Ayrat Gatiyatov familiarized everyone with the specifics of the project. A campus must be used by several universities and have several functional zones apart from dorms, such as technology parks, innovation centers, laboratories, etc.
Vice-Premier Fazleeva informed that Tatarstan is currently finalizing its application.
