Kazan University celebrated its 217th birthday
A traditional concert was held on 18th November.
Friends of the University visited and extended their warm wishes, including Minister of Youth Affairs of Tatarstan Timur Suleymanov, Head of the Section of Higher Education at the Ministry of Education and Science of Tatarstan Linar Yarullin, Head of the Committee for Youth and Child Policy of the City Administration of Kazan Mintimer Nugmanov, President of the League of Students of Tatarstan Rufat Kiyamov, and others.
The concert started with a video congratulation by Rector Ilshat Gafurov, a personal address by Vice-Rector for Research Dmitry Tayursky, and a university anthem (which was finally approved this year). Apart from performances by KFU collectives, students from other universities also sent their best talents 鈥� Kazan Innovative University, Kazan State University of Power Engineering, and Kazan Cooperative Institute.
KFU is now a huge organism uniting 55 thousand students of all ages and 10 thousand employees. There are 11 thousand overseas students from 104 countries. The University鈥檚 dorms in three cities can accommodate 20 thousand people.
