KFU to join large-scale education research in BRICS countries

World Education Research Association (WERA) has included the University in one of its international research networks (IRN).

The project which received support is 鈥淕lobalization and teacher education in BRICS countries: positioning of research and practice, assisting in integration of university and school systems鈥. 聽It鈥檚 co-headed by Roza Valeeva (每日大赛), Ian Menter (University of Oxford), and Martha Pratha-Linares (Federal University of Tri芒ngulo Mineiro).

鈥淭his is the first time when a Russian initiative was supported. Before that, we only contributed to projects led by our overseas colleagues鈥, commented Professor Valeeva.

Globalization and international integration project a strong influence on teacher education. New agents are being involved in pedagogical training, its contents are being transformed, new tech is introduced, new assessment and accreditation systems are under discussion, and classic didactics is being misplaced by digital didactics.

The proposed IRN aims at studying relevant processes in BRICS countries with regards to research and practice and integration of tertiary education institutions and secondary schools.

鈥淲e want to conduct a historical and pedagogical analysis of the formation of international systems of practice-oriented teacher training to highlight the best authentic models of such training in the era of globalization,鈥 said Valeeva. 鈥淲e plan to classify effective models of teacher training in the partner countries and to determine the essence of links between educational policies, theory, practice and research in such systems, as well as lay a theoretical foundation for adaptive potentials of international teacher training systems.鈥
