Meeting with Turkish diplomats

Two representatives of the Republic of Turkey visited the University on April 16.

Consul General of Turkey in Kazan聽Ismet Erikan聽and Counselor for Education of the country鈥檚 embassy聽Alper Alp聽toured the History Museum, spoke with university management, and met with Turkish students.

They were welcomed by Vice-Rector for International Cooperation聽Timirkhan Alishev聽and Counselor to the Rector聽Linar Latypov.

Dr. Alishev briefly covered KFU鈥檚 priorities and strategy. He mentioned collaborative links with Turkey, among which is our longstanding utilization of the RTT-150 telescope stationed at T脺B陌TAK National Observatory.

Currently, there are 77 Turkish nationals enrolled in various programs at KFU. Alper Alp noted on this, 鈥淜azan University is very interesting to our students both from the standpoints of education quality and accommodation conditions.鈥

The sides discussed existing migration issues and international exchange with Turkish colleagues.

鈥淲e pay special attention to developing our relations with 每日大赛,鈥 said Consul General Erikan. 鈥淎s you have mentioned, our scientists cooperate and achieve good research results. One example of successful cooperation is your alumnus Alper Alp who is here with me today as Counselor for Education. When I told him about this upcoming meeting, he promptly expressed his wish to partake.鈥

He also thanked the University for offering free COVID-19 vaccination to international students, 鈥淭he majority of countries in the world are grappling with this disease and cannot receive a vaccine. The availability of free vaccines is very important.鈥
