Student startups shown to Head of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov

The presentations took place at a joint meeting of the Operational Headquarters for Ensuring Socio-Economic Stability in the Republic of Tatarstan and the Board of the Ministry of Economy of Tatarstan.

The event was attended by the Rais of Tatarstan, Rustam Minnikhanov; the Chairman of the State Council of the Republic, Farid Mukhametshin; the Prime Minister of the Republic of Tatarstan, Aleksey Pesoshin; and representatives of various ministries and departments.

Prior to the meeting, Mr Minnikhanov and accompanying officials inspected a specialized exhibition where聽Daniil Malygin, a first-year master’s student at the Institute of Computational Mathematics and Information Technologies, presented his project, Navtech Autonomous Control Technology for Ground Mobile Platforms. He is a participant in the KFU Accelerator Program and a winner of the Student Startup contest in 2025.

“The Navtech hardware-software complex solves the problem of retrofitting a standard fleet of machinery into unmanned vehicles without the need to purchase new, expensive platforms. The system automates area cleaning, logistics, and monitoring, which directly addresses the current business demand for automation solutions to reduce costs. This solution allows for the implementation of autopilot on both wheeled and tracked types of machinery. Operational safety is guaranteed by preliminary testing in a simulation model and several levels of protection within the autopilot itself,” the developer commented to the KFU press service.

At the exhibition, Daniil demonstrated a small robot prototype capable of performing assigned tasks without operator intervention, operating on par with large-scale industrial solutions.

“The high level of interest in the system from many equipment manufacturers following the event confirmed the demand for this development and opened new prospects for cooperation,” noted Malygin. “I sincerely hope that soon, residents and guests of the province will be able to see robots controlled by our system on the streets of Kazan.”

Darika Arykulova, a student at the Institute of Design and Spatial Arts, also spoke to Rustam Minnikhanov about her project, Tatar Drink. The idea behind her startup is the market launch of non-alcoholic beverages that reflect the cultural identity of Tatarstan.
