Rector joins meeting with President of Mali Assimi Goita
The leader arrived to Kazan to meet with Rais (Head) of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov on 25 June.
The Rais noted that there are currently 22,000 international students in Tatarstan. As for KFU, there are 9 Malian nationals here. The Rector expressed hope that their number increases in the coming years.
In August 2021, KFU joined the Russian-African Network University Project.
As for Russia and Mali, the nations are celebrating 65 years of diplomatic relations in this coming October.
The Rais mentioned humanitarian ties, geology and minerals, infrastructure, energy, and agriculture among the prospective cooperation areas.
Assimi Goita assured that his country is interested in strengthening ties with Tatarstan.
A meeting with Malian students in Kazan Kremlin followed the official talks.
